This handbook offers guidance, in my words, for aspiring wellsite consultants and familiarizes newer consultants with stimulation, cementing, and testing procedures in completion and workover operations. The content is based on practical experience and should serve as a guideline rather than strict instruction—actual field conditions will dictate the best approach. While alternative methods may exist, those discussed here have proven effective in practice. Since around 2000, new methods have allowed oil and gas extraction from previously inaccessible formations like the Bakken (in southern Saskatchewan and North Dakota) and Texas's Permian Basin. Wells now drill vertically before turning horizontally—often extending up to 20,000 feet—which lets operators place multiple wells on a single pad and maximize hydrocarbon recovery.Completing these wells requires coordination among various service providers and personnel. Due to their complexity, procedures are not detailed in this summary. This handbook reflects years of oilfield operational expertise. Numerous supervisors, drillers, engineers, and field professionals have contributed both directly and indirectly to the practical insights presented in this publication. Some of the chapters are relatively short, but contain pertinent job-specific information that should prove to be very helpful to newer consultants in the oil and gas industry. Wellsite supervision requires technical knowledge, operational awareness, and disciplined decision‑making. This handbook provides practical guidance for supervisors responsible for drilling, completion, stimulation, and workover operations. The focus is on field‑proven procedures, operational troubleshooting, and supervisory decision support. Much of the technical information contained herein is available on the Internet or in books, and I have compiled it into chapters relevant to the completion and workover operations to which Professional Wellsite Consultants will be exposed.
